  • Today my family and I went to the South Dakota Air and Space Museum.  My son loves anything educational especially if it has to do with any type of transportation.  The kids loved all the big planes and getting to sit in a cockpit.  There is no admission to get into the museum.  They have a donation box and a gift shop if you do feel you want to help them out but if you are on a budget this is a very thrifty activity and you might even learn something.

  • One of the things I missed when moving back to South Dakota from Minnesota was the Nature Center we used to take my son to.  They had classes and events and hiking trails and I could go on and on.  I was so excited when I heard that they were building the Outdoor Campus here in Rapid City.  It is very similar except maybe a bit more extravagant.  I can’t believe that it took me so long to go check it out!  There is no entrance fee, no class fees, etc… You can go to the Game Fish and Parks website to see a schedule of events and classes.  They have classes for different age groups and even Family activities.  My kids are begging to go back to see more of the hiking trails.
